Ghanaian gospel musician and entrepreneur, Enoch Blessing Acquah, popularly known as ‘EBA’, has stated that it is not demonic for gospel musicians to engage in fashionistic lifestyles. According to the ‘Balm of Gilead’ singer, most gospel musicians take up trendy fashion styles in order to reach more people through their songs. Speaking in an interview on YEN.com.gh’s Star Gist on November 6, 2019, EBA said for fashion to be termed demonic or negative in the gospel industry, it will depend on what the gospel musician decides to wear.
“For me, fashion and how we are doing it is because we want to reach more people and that is the reason why we attach some form of packaging to what we do. Fashion is not demonic, it cannot be demonic. It depends on what you are wearing,” EBA said. He added that through fashion, most gospel musicians are able to have an appeal on people and when that happens, the people are able to open up to them so that they (Gospel musicians ) can give them what they have. “Packaging is paramount. If you have a good product and package is not on point, content can be good but you won’t be able to appeal. Therefore it is incumbent upon us to package very well. Fashion for me is one of the things we are doing so that we can have the appeal on people, they open up to you and you are able to give them what you have,” he disclosed.
