A lot of gospel tunes are thrown off the market each passing day. In view of this, one is left to decide whether to still listen to those they see or shut their ears away from them completely. A friend once remarked about the kind of gospel musicians that emerge on the scene, coming out with songs which can’t be explicitly described as befitting the gospel music genre. But whatever the case is, there’s no denying the fact that some gospel musicians are doing amazingly wonderful in the industry. I have personally listened to songs that have lifted my spirit and placed me in differently higher moods, and the below is one of them. The second or third time I listened to this song, I exclaimed that, “this song would make people cry”. I have had a lot to say about this song and this I do with three reasons why you should have this song.
- I’ve walked with the composer of this song for a while. He is a good man, an enviable song writer and composer. The truth is that, I’ve been privileged to listen to most of the songs he has under his sleeves and I can attest to the fact that they will all do wonderful. But particularly about this song I would say a lot went into his production. First this is a song that was written and composed deep from the heart. I guess you’d all agree with me that the heart is where emotions are borne. #BalmofGilead is soulful and it expresses how mighty, passionate and readily God is when it comes to the cries of His children. The song denotes an attribution of God being very skilled in the art of healing.
- A lot of prayer have gone into this song. This song isn’t just ordinary but one backed by prayer. The reason for this is simple – this is more of a healing song than a soothing one. Action based miracles must be experienced by its listeners, therefore precious time was spent praying into it. This is not the first time the composer is doing such a thing by the way. His first medley (Soul Food), same thing was done, and testimonies followed thereafter. Most of these testimonies I heard them been shared first-hand.
- The song would bring you healing in the mighty name of Jesus. As said in point two, because a lot of prayer went into this song, we trust that the song which ascribes unto God the Great Physician, He’ll heal you of your sicknesses and diseases. This won’t happen ordinarily but we strongly believe that the same way I engrossed myself the first time I listened to it and had goose bumps all over, if anyone who’s not well does same, the Lord will supernaturally heal them.
